There have always been fluctuations in the values of currencies against one another. Recent upheavals and other destabilizing events as well as the confluence of various economic factors seem to have had an unusually significant impact on the relative values of major currencies against each other during this period. The Euro has, for example, moved from an initial conversion "buy" rate to the US dollar of $ 1.20 to a low of 84 US cents and most recently to a high of $1.46, representing swings of over 50%. There are no clear signs of an abatement in this trend in 2007, with some economists predicting there will probably be no international agreement to control the Euro's rising strength before it reaches $1.50 or beyond.
To protect guests whose currency of reference is the US Dollar, the Canadian Dollar, the Pound Sterling or the Japanese Yen, for example, we shall accept payment in such currencies calculated at the "buy" rate of conversion to the Euro at the time of payment but in no event will the actual rate used for such calculation exceed or fall below by more than 10% the rate used for payment when the reservation is made.
Example: if the conversion "buy" rate of the currency used for the first rental installment is $1.28, the actual rate to be used for the payment of the balance will neither exceed nor fall below $1.28 by more than 10%, i.e. not more than $1.41 and not less than $1.15.
